Megan Parrella — BHSc (Naturopathy)

I've always been someone who appreciates the best of both worlds.

I love aesthetics, I care about how things look and feel, and I live a full modern life — but underneath that I've had a quiet, persistent curiosity about natural health for as long as I can remember. Not in a radical, give-it-all-up way. More in a let me research that properly and find something better kind of way.

It started in my mid-twenties and it never really stopped. Over time, the makeup I wear has become cleaner. The products on my shelf have changed. The way I think about food, about my body, about what I put into and onto it — all of it has gradually evolved. Not overnight, not perfectly, but thoughtfully and with genuine intention.

That's the kind of naturopath I am. Someone who understands that you have a real life, real habits, and real preferences — and that sustainable health has to work within all of that, not against it. I'm not here to ask you to become someone you're not. I'm here to help you find what works for the person you actually are.

Understanding the Bigger Picture

During my clinical training, I noticed a pattern that kept appearing.

Many of the clients I worked with had an MTHFR gene variant, an autoimmune condition—or both. They were often people who had spent years searching for answers, only to be told their tests were normal or that nothing more could be done.

These experiences, and the opportunity to support patients navigating complex health conditions, have shaped the way I practise naturopathy. They continue to drive my commitment to providing evidence-informed, holistic care that helps each person find practical, sustainable solutions to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

MTHFR is a common genetic variation that can influence how the body processes folate and other B vitamins, affecting important processes such as methylation. Methylation plays a role in everything from energy production and detoxification to mood, hormone balance and inflammation.

Genomics allows us to better understand these individual differences and use that information to create more personalised health strategies.

Autoimmune conditions require the same thoughtful approach. Every person's experience is different, which is why I take the time to understand the many factors influencing your health before developing a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

While complex cases are where my passion lies, I warmly welcome anyone looking for a personalised, whole-person approach to their health.
