Autoimmune Conditions

Your body isn't attacking you. It's asking for help.

For too long, autoimmune conditions have been explained to patients as the body turning on itself — as though your own immune system has become your enemy. I want to offer you a different perspective. One that I believe is not only more accurate, but more empowering.

Your immune system is not broken. It is overwhelmed.

It has been carrying a burden — layer upon layer of environmental exposure, nutritional depletion, genetic predisposition, gut dysfunction, chronic stress, or viral triggers — until it reached a point where it could no longer distinguish clearly between what belongs and what doesn't. It isn't attacking you. It's confused. And a confused immune system needs support, not just suppression.

That reframe changes everything about how I approach your care.

Rather than simply managing your symptoms or slowing the progression of your condition, I look for what has burdened your immune system in the first place. Because when you begin to reduce that burden — systematically, thoughtfully, and at a pace that works for your body — the immune system can begin to find its way back to balance.

It is not a quick fix. Autoimmune conditions are complex and they deserve to be treated that way. But there is so much more that can be done than most people have been told. And understanding why your body arrived here is the most important first step.

Conditions I work with

  • Hashimoto's thyroiditis

  • Graves' disease

  • Rheumatoid arthritis

  • Coeliac disease

  • Ankylosing spondylitis

  • Type 1 Diabetes

  • Psoriasis & psoriatic arthritis

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Lupus (SLE)

  • Guillain-Barre syndrome (GB

  • Inflammatory bowel disease — Crohn's & ulcerative colitis

  • Sjögren's syndrome

  • And other complex immune-mediated conditions

What burdens the immune system?

There is rarely a single cause. What I look for is the accumulation — the layers that have built up over time and tipped the immune system into chronic confusion. This commonly includes:

  • Genetic predispositions including MTHFR and other variants

  • Gut permeability & microbiome imbalance

  • Chronic infections & viral triggers

  • Nutritional deficiencies — particularly vitamin D, zinc, and B vitamins

  • Toxic burden — heavy metals, chemical exposure, environmental load

  • Hormonal imbalances

  • Chronic stress & nervous system dysregulation

  • Unresolved emotional load carried in the body

Advanced training in autoimmune care

Because autoimmune conditions are anything but straightforward, I believe it's my responsibility to keep learning — not just for my own growth, but for every person who trusts me with their care.

I am currently undertaking advanced specialised training in autoimmune care through Brad Leech's Certified Autoimmune Clinician program. It is one of the most thorough and clinically respected autoimmune training programs available to naturopaths in Australia, and it sits perfectly alongside the deep clinical interest I have carried in this space throughout my studies and patient care.

When complete in two months time, I will graduate as a Certified Autoimmune Clinician — and I couldn't be more proud to be adding that to the care I offer you.

How I work with autoimmune conditions

I approach every autoimmune case as the complex, layered picture that it is. There is no one-size-fits-all protocol here — because no two immune systems, no two life histories, and no two people are the same.

We begin with your full story — from the beginning, including everything that felt relevant even if nobody else thought so. From there I investigate the underlying drivers, assess your nutritional status, review existing pathology, and where indicated recommend additional testing.

Your treatment plan will be detailed and comprehensive — addressing the root causes we uncover together, supporting your immune system back toward balance, and giving you a genuine understanding of why your body has responded the way it has.

You'll leave with a plan, with knowledge, and with the quiet confidence that someone has finally looked at the whole picture.

Your body has been doing its best with what it's been given. Let's give it more.
